Jim and his CliqStudios designer, Julia, created a warm, inviting space in his Diamond Bar, California, home. The simple, clean lines of white Shaker cabinets provide a backdrop for a graceful transitional theme. Trimmed with a valance over the sink, broad traditional crown molding and ogee base trim on the center island, the cabinets set a classic tone. A single glass door cabinet in the corner of the kitchen becomes an attractive focal point, a display case for special dishware. Modern glass island pendants provide a contemporary touch. Black appliances pick up dark tones in the hardwood floor, and multi-toned granite countertops pulls the color scheme together. A few decorative tiles in the subway tile backsplash add interest without overwhelming.
