This homeowner came to CliqStudios designer, Ashley, knowing exactly what she wanted. She envisioned a classic white kitchen with spectacular storage options.
Ashley describes this kitchen as “one of those perfect situations.” The homeowner had already thought about the layout, storage features and appliances she wanted in the space. She even had a few simple room measurements [link to how to measure] that helped get the design process started.
“She came with all of her dimensions and appliance information,” Ashley said.
Traditional Cabinet Door Style
This kitchen showcases CliqStudios’ Decorative door. It has raised panels and subtle scallops, making it a more traditional cabinet door style. However, the drawers have slab fronts, which brings in a modern feel, making it perfect for transitional spaces.
“Decorative is a little more traditional, but here it has a modern feel with the white paint,” Ashley describes.
Cabinet Storage
In the corner, an L-shaped pantry area adds cabinet storage and counter space. Although the corner is disconnected from the main work triangle, the cabinets and countertops tie it in with the rest of the space.
“People don’t normally have that much space for storage, so it was fun to give her all the extras and mix it up a bit,” Ashley said.
“The corner is our version of an appliance garage,” she continued. “I always recommend the Super Susan because I think it’s the best use of the corner space.”
In this kitchen, Ashley was able to add a Super Susan in both corners. She also incorporated a two-tier cutlery divider, knife block, spice pull-out, tray dividers, pull-out wastebasket and “lots of roll-outs.”
Professional Appliances
Professional stainless steel appliances add to this kitchen’s clean and contemporary look. A large refrigerator with an iconic top grille takes center stage, while the microwave is hidden next to the island sink.
“I love that she used the high-end appliances,” Ashley shared. “It really elevates the look of the whole kitchen.”
This kitchen has dual in-wall ovens and a professional six-burner stovetop. The smooth range hood keeps the look clean.
“This was an oversized cooktop so we really had to work with that,” Ashley shared. “We see most people doing the separate cooktop and ovens now.”
Focus on Faucets
Kitchen faucets are becoming more prominent than ever before, stepping into focus as almost another appliance. In this design, the sink faucet has a modern, industrial style. The single pull coil elevates the faucet to the same professional level of the appliances.
The wall faucet above the stove top is practical for filling pots and adds another metal element to tie the kitchen together. The soft scallops of the gray backsplash keep the stainless elements from becoming too cold.
This open kitchen incorporates all the luxuries of a professional kitchen, while keeping a welcoming feel for family.
