There’s nothing like a beautifully updated basement to meet an entertainer’s needs. Jeanna Letzring’s clients had a large, finished basement that wasn’t living up to its potential. Her clients had dreams of adding a kitchenette with a sink, full-sized refrigerator, plenty of storage, and space to sit and watch sports. All they needed was a great design and quality cabinets to complete their vision.

When asked about the client’s original dream, Jeanna said, “The basement was already finished, but they wanted to be able to have an entertainment space for themselves and their two girls. They envisioned movie nights, sports watching, game nights, sleepovers, and holiday celebrations all taking place down here where they never spent much time.”

The kitchenette was finished in Signature Plus line’s Kirby door in the Timber finish. This style and finish created a warm and inviting look with a touch of rustic. Smaller stone subway tile was installed as the backsplash with white quartz countertops. Together with the cabinets, these elements turned a blank finished space into a tailored and welcoming kitchenette with bar seating.

Special features of the kitchen cabinets included drawers, a pull-out waste cabinet, and a built-in microwave below the countertop. These features are what made the space incredibly functional, leaving Jeanna’s client very happy.

Jeanna said, “The clients were very particular on making sure they had the right layout to allow for a wall mounted TV, microwave, and full-size fridge”. Outside of the kitchen cabinets, they added a fireplace in the family room with matching cabinet storage and floating shelves on the left to create a cohesive space.

Jeanna ended by saying, “With the addition of a shuffleboard table, a casual sectional for snuggling in, two TVs, and a standalone theater-style popcorn machine, this space went from builder basic to a space their family can use for many years to come”. This basement remodel truly turned into an entertainer’s dream.
